Is this the official Haryana government calendar?

No. Haryana Calendar is an independent website. We reproduce the dates of the Haryana government notification for convenience, but the official notification of the Human Resources Department is final.

Why does a festival on a Saturday not get another day off?

Haryana offices work five days a week, so Saturdays and Sundays are already holidays. The notification lists festivals on closed days separately and does not shift them.

What are restricted holidays?

Optional holidays in Schedule-II. Every employee, including outsourced staff, may take any three of them.

What are Special Days?

Since 2025 Schedule-IV lists anniversaries of saints and heroes that are celebrated but are not holidays.

Why is Vishwakarma Day after Diwali here and not on 17 September?

Haryana's gazetted Vishwakarma Day is kept on the day after Diwali, the traditional day of tool and machine worship in north India. 17 September (Kanya Sankranti) appears only as a Special Day.

Which place are the panchang timings for?

Kurukshetra. Sunrise in Panchkula is a minute or two earlier, and in Sirsa about eight minutes later.

Why does my family panchang show Teej or Karva Chauth on a different day?

When a tithi spans two sunrises or ends early, panchangs follow slightly different rules. We use the tithi at sunrise (or moonrise for Karva Chauth) at Kurukshetra.

Can I add Haryana holidays to my phone?

Yes. Every holiday page has a .ics file you can import into Google Calendar, Apple Calendar or Outlook.
