Calculation

Sun and Moon longitudes come from the Swiss Ephemeris; we use Lahiri ayanamsa, the standard of the Indian Calendar Reform Committee. Daily values are taken at sunrise in Kurukshetra.

Festival rules

Each festival has a coded rule — month, paksha, tithi and the time of day that decides it (sunrise, pradosh, midnight or moonrise). We compare results with published panchangs and correct the rule if a mismatch is real.

Government holidays

Holiday lists follow the Haryana government gazette notification once published. Until then, years are marked as computed.
